Rimbey Municipal Library

In 2003, the Town of Rimbey moved its library to the former fire hall – this is twice the size of the old library and in a more central location.

With Alberta Lottery Funding, we were able to extend and renovate the fire hall into a top-notch facility. Before, we were renting space. Now the library is in a town-owned building.

We’ve had many comments about how excellent this location is, and we have doubled the selection of books and number of computers. We also have lots of children’s programs on during the day.

This funding has made it possible for us to improve our services and get more people into the library. It’s downtown, more accessible, and there’s parking. It’s a real improvement for the citizens of Rimbey and district.
